the journey so far
Julian Metcalfe opened itsu in 1997 whilst working at Pret a Manger [which he co-founded in 1986]. At the time there were only a handful of Japanese restaurants in London. The word itsu means ‘whenever’. We now have over 70 company owned itsu’s and we open in New York in June 2018. At the moment, we do not franchise and we do not intend to.
the half price evening sale
The half price sale [every evening] is part of every itsu. We make our food fresh in every itsu. We like to start 100% fresh each day.
Itsu has been voted as one of the UK’s coolest brands and in 2016 we won ‘best concept’ at the Retailer of The Year awards, voted by senior executives from the industry itself. From our forward-thinking Academy team to our city + guilds accredited fish pros – the itsu family tree gives our employees the chance to get on. In 2017, our amazing people team won the CIPD award for ‘HR team of the year’. Apply now at http://jobs.itsu.com/
